Mr. Mohasseb is now serving as the Managing Director of Venture Farm LLC; an early stage funding and execution firm. He is also an executive committee member of the Tech Coast Angels; the largest angel network in US with in excess of $85 million dollars of direct investments in over 120 companies with follow-up investments of over $850 million from the Venture Capital community. He also serves on a number of corporate and advisory boards: and Anabasis, Clupedia.com, AccuScore (Orion Data Corp.), Trend Point Systems, Cerius Consulting and LTC Quick Bid. He is also on the advisory board of a number of non-for profit and educational organizations, including Paul Mirage School of Business: University of California at Irvine, The Southern California Technology Council, and TiE.
In the most recent past, He was the CEO and President of Vital Source, Inc. a global distributor of electronic components. This venture resulted from a strategic acquisition designed to take advantage of the dynamics of the open electronics components market – The company has successfully created a new class of distribution within the open market by serving only the other distributors. Vital Source, was conceived in late 2001 and started operations early 2002. Today, the company is a highly profitable organization and one of the largest open market stocking distributors in the world with over 6000 customers, 1.0 Billion components in inventory operating from offices in London, Hong Kong and California. Also, between 2001 and 2002, Mr. Mohasseb, in an advisory capacity, shared his diverse operational and consulting expertise directly with CEO’s and with Venture Capital / investment firms. Engagements include evaluation of portfolio companies for strategic soundness, financial and organizational restructuring, liquidation and merger positioning and new venture evaluation and development. He also served as the Acting Chief Strategy officer for a global electronics component distributors with 450+ Million in revenues.
Sid (Saeed) Mohasseb was the Chairman and CEO of Competitive Knowledge Inc (CKI). In late 90’s and early 2000, this technology based business enhancement organization was led by Mohasseb through Angel and Venture Capital financing. Under his leadership an executive and execution team was assembled. The firm successfully developed Internet based, patent pending, technologies for performance management and achieved 35% brand recognition within the target market over an 18-month period. CKI served over 5,000 executives around the globe and claimed a number of the fortune 1000 and government organizations among its customers.

Mohasseb’s vision for CKI grew out of close to two decades of leadership and expertise in management consulting. Prior to forming CKI in 1999, Mohasseb, in 1989, founded the national management consulting firm of Anabasis and facilitated its merger with Dan Straub & Associates in early 90’s to create Anabasis-Straub. He served as the CEO of the merged organization. During the mid 80’s, Saeed was the partner for corporate development / strategy at the national consulting firm of SGS Group.
Over approximately two decades, Mohasseb has consulted on a diverse range of topics across multiple industries. His projects have included business strategy formulation, corporate and government planning, organizational and financial restructuring, and process re-engineering, as well as mergers and acquisitions. Mohasseb has put his skills to work for both private and public sector clients. Some of his Fortune 500 clients have included IBM, Union Bank, Motorola, NME, Mattel Toys, GTE, Paramount Studios, Toyota, Honda, Pacific Bell, Wells Fargo Bank, Hughes Helicopter, and McDonnell Douglas. His public sector efforts include work with government agencies throughout the U.S. on the city, county and state levels in multiple states including California, Texas, Alaska, Illinois, Arizona, Washington, Pennsylvania, New York, and Nevada.
Sid (Saeed) has also been instrumental in a number of acquisitions and turnarounds both as a principal investor and as a consultant/ operator (e.g. Leveraged Buy Out / Acquisition, turn around and disposition of NDT Systems, Inc. from Dupont) . Additionally he has been involved with corporate equity and debt financing, working with the angel investors as well as venture capital and financial institution communities. As a HarvardBusinessSchool trained negotiator, Mohasseb has negotiated and structured numerous multiparty ventures.
Mohasseb has authored several publications sharing his expertise. Some titles include: Knowledge: the True Return on Information Technology, Strategic Logistics and Location Analysis, Restorative Management, The Role of Operations Research in Asset Allocation Planning, and Transcending Transaction: Achieving competitiveness through the Internet. Saeed frequently gives seminars and facilitates executive discussions on process re-engineering, strategic planning and the new economy. He has also served as host and moderator for a national radio program on good Business practices with a 7.5 million audience in the South West and Eastern part of the United States.
Mohasseb is co-credited for two pending business process patents. Additionally, he is the architect for innovative software solutions such as the Resource Allocation model (RAM – winner of the Innovation in Government Kleps award) , Executive Dashboard model, Operations Planner Resource Optimization model, the HOPES Utility Forecasting system and the Sentence Screening system. The University of Southern California awarded Saeed Mohasseb B.S. and M.S. degrees in Industrial Engineering/Operations Research and Technical Economical Planning.
